“Bringing Palaeontology to People”

It’s been just two months since we launched Wild Prehistory and we can already announce our first big project! As we keep saying, we want Wild Prehistory to be a place where everyone who is fascinated with fossils and the evolutionary history of life can find something interesting.

Our main aim is to bring paleontology to everyone! Having that in mind – we can’t think of a better way to do so than by organizing an international meeting. A meeting that can be attended by everyone. A meeting where you can meet real paleontologists, ask them whatever you want, and learn a lot of interesting things. And finally – a meeting where you can dig up real fossils!

So – let’s do that!

Wild Prehistory, the European Centre of Palaeontology (Opole University), and JuraPark Krasiejów wish to invite you to take part in a unique meeting, titled “Bringing Palaeontology to People”, that will be organized from June, 30th to July, 3rd in Krasiejów, southwest Poland.

Krasiejów is a small village in south-western Poland, known especially for a unique fossil site that has yielded one of world’s most important Late Triassic vertebrate faunas. Have you ever heard of the early dinosauromorph Silesaurus opolensis? And what about the crocodile-branch archosaurs Stagonolepis olenkae and Polonosuchus silesiacus, the temnospondyls Metoposaurus krasiejowensis and Cyclotosaurus intermedius, or the recently described early archosauromorph Ozimek volans? All these fascinating vertebrates have been unearthed at Krasiejów. And you will be allowed to dig them up too!

Interested in attending the party? Great! Click here to check out the program.
